Our Lady at Fatima: Prophecies of Tragedy or Hope for America and the World? was first published in Brazil, in 1967, under the title “Simples relato do quo se passou em Fátima, quando Nossa Senhora apareceu.” This work by Mr. Antonio Augusto Borelli is the result of an extensive research of various sources which he proceeds to analyze with much care. It is an intelligent, articulate, and accomplished gathering of all the facts that are at the heart of the message of Fatima, accompanied by a penetrating and judicious interpretation of several of its aspects.

The message of Our Lady at Fatima, speaks of the “errors of Russia,” and indicates the means to prevent their penetration. It points to communism as the great punishment to which mankind is exposed on account of its religious and moral decline. So, communism clearly appears as the scourge of Divine Providence for chastising the nations, especially in the West. Nevertheless, men can avoid this by abandoning the irreligion and immorality they are mired in, and by returning to the profession of the true Faith and to the practice of Christian morality.

The essence of the messages of the Angel of Portugal and Our Lady is to open our eyes to the gravity of this situation, to explain it in light of the plans of Divine Providence, and to point out what is necessary in order to prevent the catastrophe. Our Lady is thus teaching us the history of our epoch and, more than this, its future.

This book affirms, without fear of contradiction, that the apparitions at Fatima constitute the most important and most striking event of the 20th century.
